Pupils at Ysgol Maesydderwen are celebrating their A-level results after a successful year for the school’s sixth form.

The school said the results reflected the commitment, resilience and hard work shown by Year 13 learners throughout their sixth-form studies.

Headteacher Phil Grimes congratulated the pupils and said they should be proud of their achievements.

“I would like to offer my warmest congratulations to all of our Year 13 learners on their A-level results,” he said.

“These results are a reflection of their determination, perseverance and commitment over the past two years, and they should be extremely proud of what they have achieved.”

Mr Grimes also thanked teaching and support staff, as well as parents and carers, for their work in supporting pupils.

He said results day marked both an important milestone and the start of a new chapter for the Year 13 learners.

“Whether learners are progressing to university, apprenticeships, employment or other opportunities, I am confident that they have developed the knowledge, skills and resilience to succeed in the future,” he said.

The school is also celebrating its Year 12 results, which it said were the best achieved by the year group for several years.

Staff said the strong performance from Year 12 learners bodes well for next year’s Year 13 results.
