A Crickhowell taxi firm took customer service to the next level by driving to Brighton to pick a client up.

Daily Star columnist and author, Cathy Couzens, now Hollowell, needed to be in Crickhowell for a book signing at independent bookshop Book-ish, and asked Crickhowell Taxis to collect her.

“I always use Crickhowell Taxis. I’ve known the family all my life and would not dream of using anyone else,” Cathy told The Brecon and Radnor Express. “I have traveled all over the world. Crickhowell Taxis is the best and there is no stress for me. I am never worried that he may not turn up. I book and don’t even remind them.”

Crickhowell Taxi’s pride themselves on reliable service since 1969, and offer direct journeys to Heathrow, Gatwick, UK ports and events. Aled Jones, who drove to pick up Cathy, said: “It is very important to me and our company to provide a reliable, comfortable and efficient service for our clients, and it results in repeat business. Some of our customers have been with us for twenty to thirty years. Happy to go wherever the customer needs to go.”

Cathy’s new book, Nana, were you famous? is a fun look behind the scenes at the life of the rich and famous, the life of a newspaper reporter, royalty on tour, film festival shenanigans and how she met her husband on an airplane and married him in two weeks. Cathy is better known as Cathy Couzens locally, since Couzens the Chemist operated as a family business from 1932-2000. She grew up in Crickhowell and still calls it home despite living in Houston, Texas , for 45 years.

Cathy said: “This was a special trip. I’ve written a book about my career as a British Tabloid journalist and it came out in December. I worked in Brighton for eight years and part of my trip was to see people there, they are in the book. Aled is a superb driver.”
