A road near Defynnog is set to close for more than six weeks while repairs are carried out to a bridge.

Powys County Council has made a temporary traffic order for the U0341 at Defynnog, Brecon, with the closure coming into effect from August 5.

The closure, which will remain in place until September 18 or until the works are completed, is needed to allow repairs to the abutments and wingwalls at the base of a masonry arch bridge.

Drivers are advised to follow any alternative routes that are signposted while the work is carried out.
