Dentists across Powys will collectively take on more than 200 new NHS dentist patients per month.
Powys Teaching Health Board said that Powys dental practices will be taking on approximately 269 new patients per month as part of the Welsh Government’s Covid-19 Recovery Plan which will see dental practices across Wales taking on different levels of new NHS patients based off their contracts.
In response to a recent Freedom of Information (FOI) request submitted by The Brecon & Radnor Express, the health board originally said that dentists across Powys would be taking on 269 new patients per week however this was incorrect and the health board has since said that it will be 269 new dental patients per month.
A Powys Teaching Health Board spokesman said: “‘The number of patients’ practices are expected to take on will be based on the value of their contract, across Powys this will be approximately 269 new patients per month’ as opposed to per week.
“We are truly sorry for this and for any inconvenience it may have caused.”
