Two firefighters from Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service will spend a night sleeping outdoors in Powys to raise money for homeless veterans.

Station Manager Paul Armes and Crew Manager Simon Church, who cover Powys and Ceredigion, will take part in The Great Tommy Sleep Out on March 28.

They will sleep out in Newtown.

The campaign is organised by the Royal British Veterans Enterprise and sees people give up a night of comfort to raise awareness and funds for former Armed Forces personnel facing homelessness.

Mr Armes said supporting veterans was “very close to my heart” due to his family’s military background.
