The Central Wales Open Art Exhibition will return to Llandrindod Wells this summer, with organisers confirming the second staging of Here Be Dragons following a successful inaugural year.
Here Be Dragons – Central Wales Open Art Exhibition (Yma Mae Dreigiau – Arddangosfa Agored Celf Canolbarth Cymru) will run from Friday, July 10 to Sunday, July 26, bringing together artists of all ages for a two-week showcase in the town.
Last year’s event attracted around 1,000 visitors and featured roughly 300 selected works across children, young people and adult categories. Organisers say the 2026 exhibition will be “bigger and better”, with a wider range of submissions expected and a continued focus on accessibility and opportunity for both emerging and established artists.
Entry categories include children, young people and adults, with cash prizes awarded, including a People's Choice Prize. All artwork exhibited will be available for sale, with sold works collected at the close of the exhibition. Submissions close at midnight on Sunday, May 24. The venue for the event is yet to be confirmed.
This year also sees the launch of a dedicated Here Be Dragons website, providing information about the exhibition and guidance for artists wishing to submit work for consideration. Regular updates, including venue announcements and exhibition news, will be shared via the exhibition’s social media channels and website.
