This year there will be more than 35 artists and makers taking part in an event which has now become firmly established on the arts calendar in a Powys town.
Open Studios Presteigne will take place from Saturday, August 26 to Monday, August 28 from 11am to 5pm.
With a huge range of diverse and fascinating talents on display, this promises to be the biggest and most interesting trail yet.
From Peter Smith’s fascinating blacksmithing skills on display at Lady Bluefoot Forge to Debbi Mason – founder member and editor of Elle magazine – exhibiting her textile narratives in her new Hereford Street home, from Richard Studer’s stunning gallery on the High Street to the Sidney Nolan Trust Youth Programmes showing some of their work in Broadaxe Business Park – the range of media and skills is vast.
Exhibits include ceramics, photography, painting and drawing, furniture making, mosaic, printmaking, sculpture, basketry, jewellery and even a ‘happening’ in the Art Yard.
It is definitely worth taking the time to wander round this lovely border town, with plenty of cafés and restaurants to keep you going.
Brochures will be in shops, pubs and cafes nearer to the time, with details of how to find each venue, all of which are clearly signed.
