Lexicographer, etymologist, and TV personality Susie Dent is set to celebrate the joy of words at Theatr Brycheiniog next month.
Familiar to audiences as the Countdown and 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown presenter, Susie is returning with her new show, Word Perfect, following the success of The Secret Life of Words. The show promises a fascinating and fun exploration of language, packed with quirky facts, stories, and head-scratching examples from the world of words.
Have you ever wondered whether there’s a word for going to the fridge for the umpteenth time in search of something new? Or puzzled over the reason why a group of crows is called a ‘murder’, while owls form a ‘parliament’? Is teen slang actually designed to make us tear our hair out? And just how many words do we need for being drunk?
With the help of funny, insightful, and head-scratching examples, Susie will entertain and educate with her pick of language’s greatest hits.
Tickets for Susie Dent: Word Perfect at Theatr Brycheiniog on Saturday, April 18 at 2pm are available now. For bookings, call 01874 611622 or visit brycheiniog.co.uk.
