An international walking festival is set to take place in Mid Wales this month.

The Mid Wales Four Day Walking Festival will take place from September 21-24 on the edge of the beautiful Cambrian Mountains. You can take part on any or all days with way-marked routes from 12 or 20 miles and guided walks of five and eight miles.

The walking festival is not only a chance to experience the magnificent landscape, but also enjoy entertainment each night, finishing with the “Blister Ball” on the Saturday night with live music at the Neuadd Arms Hotel.

On Saturday, September 24 there will be the Gordon Green Jubilee Walk to celebrate his contribution to Llanwrtyd Wells life and recent history. Mr Green, of the Neuadd Arms, is responsible for putting Llanwrtyd firmly on the map thanks to the bog snorkelling, wife-carrying, and an array of other weird and wonderful championships held in the town.

This 11-mile guided Jubilee walk starts at 10am from Abergwesyn Village Hall and will go up to the top of Drygarn Fawr.
