A past Brecknock YFC County President and current club leader and trustee of Erwood YFC has been announced as runner-up in a prestigious national award.
Robert Healey was named runner-up for the Supporter of the Year accolade at the YFC Achiever Awards, hosted by the National Federation of Young Farmers’ Clubs (NFYFC).
The awards ceremony, which was held at the National Conference Centre in Birmingham, attracted 500 young farmers, supporters and alumni to celebrate the achievements of individuals shaping the future of rural Britain.
Rob is a past member of Brecon YFC and later Builth Wells YFC. More recently, he served as Brecknock YFC County President and is now a club leader and trustee of Erwood YFC.
Rob has given more than three decades of support to the organisation in a variety of roles. Judges praised his dedication to mentoring and guiding young members, encouraging their participation and supporting their development. His determination to help others succeed often shines through in the selfless work he carries out behind the scenes. Thanks to his commitment, countless YFC members have developed new skills, grown in confidence and strengthened their sense of community.
Rob said: “I'm so humbled to have been recognised for this award. There are so many people across the country who give their time every week to support YFC members and clubs. I try to give back as I gained so much myself as a member. There were so many exceptional finalists shortlisted that I did not expect to be considered in the top two. I really enjoy supporting members and encouraging the next generation to take up all YFC has to offer.”
Judges described Rob as someone “who gives back to YFC and inspires members to take up all opportunities on offer, while supporting their communities.”
