The family of the 25-year-old man who died near the Royal Welsh Showground have paid tribute to him.

Dyfed-Powys Police have named him as Dewi Aeron Evans, from Llanfihangel Glyn Myfyr, Corwen, who died at Penmaenau Farm, Llanelwedd, on Saturday, July 18.

In a tribute released through the force, his family said: "Dewi Aeron Evans, a beloved and dear son, brother and grandson, will be a huge loss to the family and community in Uwchaled. The family and community would appreciate privacy at this difficult time."

Police were called to a report of a medical emergency at around 10:30pm on Saturday. Despite the efforts of paramedics, Mr Evans was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said yesterday his death is being treated as unexplained, and three men were arrested on suspicion of drug-related offences.

Temporary Chief Superintendent Steve Davies said: "This is a tragic incident, and our thoughts remain with the young man's family at this difficult time.

"I would like to reassure the public that this is an isolated incident, and the death is currently being treated as unexplained.

"There is no evidence of any ongoing risk to the wider public in connection with this sad incident."
