Pontfaen YFC members enjoyed an excellent day at the Wales YFC Eisteddfod on Saturday, held at Theatre Hafren, Newtown and hosted by Montgomery YFC.
The club was proudly represented across a wide range of homework and stage competitions, with several strong results and memorable performances.
In the Homework Section, Pontfaen members took part in a variety of creative challenges. Kieran Sheppard represented the club in the Sentence competition, while Henry Davies impressed with his entry in the Art category under 28 and won the Poster competition 10 to 13 years with his striking “Promote Your Club” design. Sian Healey competed in the Letter to an MP (Under 28), and was also part of the team with Connie Hyde, Celyn Owens and Seren Jones in the Podcast competition, where the team secured second place for their insightful interview with Royal Welsh President, Gethin Havard.
The club also celebrated another second place thanks to Carys Rees in the Under 21 Newspaper Article, with her forward-thinking piece titled “Welsh Language High Schools Are the Future.”
Pontfaen YFC shone on stage as well. Noah Morgan entertained the crowd with a dynamic drum performance in the Instrumental Solo (28 and under), while Sian Healey delivered a moving and emotional rendition of “With You” from Ghost in the Musical Solo (Under 28).
