More than 300 members of Brecknock Young Farmers’ Club took to the stage at Theatr Brycheiniog recently for a celebration of talent and creativity at the annual Entertainment and One Plus competitions.

Top honours in the 2026 Entertainment competition went to My Generation, written and directed by Samuel Powell and performed by Erwood YFC. The production impressed judges and audiences with its energy and originality. Erwood’s success was reflected in the individual awards, with Samuel Powell named Best Actor Under 28 and Megan Powell taking Best Actress Under 28, as well as Best Actress Under 28 in the One Plus competition. Both are in their final year of Young Farmers membership.

Other Entertainment awards saw Owain Evans Taylor of Sennybridge YFC named Best Actor Under 18 and Anest Jones, also of Sennybridge, awarded Best Actress Under 18. Sennybridge also made history by presenting the first Welsh-language Entertainment production, earning the award for Best Choreography.

In the Senior One Plus competition, Sennybridge YFC secured first place with The Traitors and second with All Creatures Great and Small. Trecastle YFC finished third with a superb duet performance. Individual awards went to Elis Jones (Troedrhiwdalar YFC), Megan Powell (Erwood YFC), Thomas Davies (Sennybridge YFC) and Belle Williams (Llandefalle YFC).

Sennybridge dominated the Junior One Plus section, taking both first and second place, with Troedrhiwdalar YFC third withtheir creative and thought-provoking performance about the Epynt Ranges.

Evie Lewis (Sennybridge) and Sian Healey (Builth Wells) were named Junior and Senior Members of the Year.

This year marked the introduction of the Andrew Bufton Memorial Award, honouring a new member who has joined since September 2024 and demonstrated outstanding enthusiasm while fully embracing the Young Farmers experience. From a strong shortlist of nominees, the inaugural award was presented to Sian Thomas Davies of Beulah YFC.
