Erwood YFC celebrated a spectacular week recently at Brecknock YFC’s 77th Annual Entertainment and One Plus Festival.
The club said it is extremely proud of its members and their achievements at the event, which was held at Theatr Brycheiniog.
The club took to the stage with five performances, including two Junior One Pluses, two Senior One Pluses, and their English Entertainment, “My Generation”, written and produced by Samuel Powell. The show tells the stories of three men across generations, highlighting the challenges men face and the idea that “while time changes everything, time changes nothing.” Comedic sketches featuring Margery and Edith battling over buns, and a Sergeant and his Private, added humour to a performance full of singing, dance, and drama.

A total of 35 Erwood members, aged 10 to 28, took to the stage. Their efforts were rewarded as they were crowned winners of the 2026 Entertainment Competition and will now represent Brecknock YFC at the Wales Entertainment Feast on March 8 at Pontio, Bangor.

Samuel Powell received Best Actor under 28 in the Entertainment, while Meg Powell won both Best Actress under 28 in the Entertainment and Best Actress in a Senior One Plus. Erwood also won Best Written Production and Best Costume and Make Up, with thanks to Sharon for costumes and Luke, Hazel, and Ann for set design.
Other highlights included Meg Powell (junior) finishing runner-up for the Andrew Bufton Memorial Award, and Emma Jones and Ieuan Williams entering the Senior Member of the Year competition, with Emma taking third place. Members also shone in the Junior and Senior One Plus competitions, demonstrating their talent - with plenty of laughs along the way.

Erwood YFC would like to thank to all who supported the productions, with special appreciation for pianists Edward Walsh and Paul Sweeting.
