Fire crews have been investigating reports of smoke and haze this morning in Mid Wales communities.

Llandrindod Wells Fire Station have said they believe the smoke is travelling from the wildfires currently burning in South Wales.

A spokesperson for Llandrindod Wells Fire Station said: “We are aware that many communities have woken up to significant smoke and haze this morning.

“Our crews have been out investigating reports and have been unable to locate any local incidents. At this time, we believe the smoke is travelling from the wildfires currently burning in South Wales.

“We would also ask everyone to help reduce the risk of fires during this exceptionally dry period by taking extra care when outdoors. Please avoid activities that could accidentally start a fire and follow any local safety advice.

“Due to the smoke in the atmosphere, residents may wish to keep windows and doors closed where possible.Thank you for your continued support and vigilance.”
