Customers at the Old Railway Line Garden Centre have the chance to win more than £5,000 worth of prizes while helping to support a local charity.

The Three Cocks garden centre has launched its Grand Charity Raffle in aid of its Charity of the Year, The Bracken Trust, which provides support to people living with cancer and their families across Mid Wales.

The raffle includes a wide range of prizes donated by suppliers and supporters, including garden furniture, outdoor equipment, food and lifestyle items.

Top prizes include a Bramblecrest Chedworth four-seat dining set, a Kettler Tudor five-seat sofa set and a Weber Spirit E-315 gas barbecue.

The garden centre said the raffle is one of its biggest fundraising events to date, with every ticket sold contributing towards the work of The Bracken Trust.

The Llandrindod Wells-based charity supports cancer patients, their families and carers through nursing, therapy and counselling services. It has also recently expanded its support to include people living with Motor Neurone Disease (MND).

The charity operates from its centre in Llandrindod Wells, as well as hubs in Knighton, Llanidloes and Brecon, and is looking to develop further hubs across Powys.

Huw Lewis, finance director at the Old Railway Line Garden Centre, said the team was pleased to be supporting the charity.

“We’re incredibly excited to launch our Grand Charity Raffle and to be able to raise funds for such a fantastic local charity,” he said.

“The Bracken Trust is a cause that’s very close to my heart, so it means a great deal to see the support we’ve already received from our suppliers and the enthusiasm from our team in making this raffle happen.”

He added: “With over £5,000 worth of prizes to be won, we’re hoping lots of people will get involved. Every ticket purchased will help support the incredible work The Bracken Trust does for people and families across our community, and together we can make a real difference."

Lisa Griffiths, chief executive of The Bracken Trust, said the charity was grateful to have been chosen as the garden centre’s Charity of the Year.

“Our charity provides support for cancer patients, their family members and carers and we have recently started supporting patients suffering from Motor Neurone Disease,” she said.

“From our centre in Llandrindod Wells and our hubs in Knighton, Llanidloes and Brecon we aim to reach as many people as possible by providing nursing, therapy and counselling services.”

She said the support from the partnership would help the charity reach more people across Powys.

The winning raffle tickets will be drawn on Saturday, November 7, giving customers plenty of time to enter and support the fundraising effort.

Tickets are available to buy in-store at The Old Railway Line Garden Centre, with all proceeds helping support The Bracken Trust’s work in the local community.
