Trustees of the Clarence Hall in Crickhowell have approved a project to refurbish the hall and turn it into “the biggest and finest event venue in Crickhowell”.
The plans were presented to the trustees and the hall’s new patron, Dame Shân Legge-Bourke, at a meeting on Monday (February 25).
The meeting was led by the group’s chairman Dean Christy, who said: “This is the beginning of an incredibly exciting new project for The Clarence Hall and Crickhowell which will see the building turned into a fantastic event venue which will not only serve the community, but which will also bring people in to town.”
The scheme includes hundreds of thousands of pounds of work to repair the fabric of the historic building.
The plans will be unveiled to the public at the Clarence Hall in Crickhowell between 12pm and 4pm on Sunday,
March 10.
The plans will then be submitted to Brecon Beacons National Park Authority.
After that, a major fundraising campaign will then be launched and applications made to funding bodies like the National Lottery.
