A NEW primary school in a Breconshire town has been delayed - again. Fiona Howard, the head of Hay-on-Wye Primary School, said she was shocked to be was greeted with the news on her first day back at work following the long summer holidays. Powys County Council is submitting funding bids to the Welsh Government for the new school at Hay and others to serve Talgarth and Clyro and says it anticipates the new schools will be open by September 2017. The authority had previously said the new school for Hay, which will also include a new library and community space, would be ready by 2016 having earlier intended to open the facility by 2015.
