Brecon residents have reported a heavy smell of smoke in the town this morning following a barn fire last night.
It took around seven hours for firefighters to extinguish the barn, which is based on Warren Road between the town and Llanspyddid, which was used to store straw and farm machinery.
Crews from Brecon, Llandrindod Wells, and Talgarth attended the blaze with support from South Wales Fire and Rescue service crews from Merthyr Tydfil.
The barn, which was well alight, was extinguished by 14 firefighters using breathing apparatus, four main jets, four hose reel jets, as well as ground monitors and thermal imaging cameras.
A Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service spokeswoman said they received the call just before 8pm yesterday, January 19, and crews left the incident just before 3am.
Nobody was injured in the blaze which has covered the immediate surrounding area in soot.
