Llandrindod Wells has topped the UK charts for the highest driving test pass rate, according to new data covering the past five years.
The town’s drivers boasted a pass rate of nearly 70 per cent – the highest in the UK. Figures show that 69.7 per cent of those taking their practical test passed, far above the UK average of 53.4 per cent.
The data, compiled by claims.co.uk using official figures from GOV.UK, analysed test outcomes across 233 towns and cities between 2019 and 2024.
The Llandrindod test centre itself closed back in 2020, meaning local candidates have since had to travel elsewhere - notably Brecon or Newtown - for their practical tests.
At the other end of the scale, Wolverhampton recorded the lowest pass rate in the UK at just 35.2 per cent, followed by Plymouth and Wednesbury.
