The Penybont Tractor Run has raised £1,500 for St Michael’s Hospice in Hereford.
Held on Sunday, June 1, the annual event set off from The Racecourse (Ddole), Penybont at 10:30am and returned mid-afternoon. But it was more than just tractors on show, with plenty to keep visitors entertained throughout the day. There was horse jumping from noon, a new dog show with fun classes such as “Best Puppy”, “Waggiest Tail” and “Dog the Judge Would Like to Take Home”, as well as children’s sports in the afternoon. A barbecue, bar and live entertainment added to the occasion.
Volunteers recently visited St Michael’s to hand over the cheque for £1,500. Jackie Nicholson gave the group a tour of the hospice and spoke about the work carried out there.
“From the beautiful gardens to the education suite and day care centre, it was a moving and eye-opening visit,” the group said.
Organisers thanked everyone who supported the day, as well as St Michael’s for the warm welcome they received.
