Residents are being advised to make sure their bins are out earlier than usual after Powys County Council announced changes to collection times during the hot weather.
The council said its waste and recycling crews will begin work from 5am to avoid the hottest part of the day.
In a social media post, the council said: "In this hot weather our waste and recycling crews will be starting earlier than usual to avoid the hottest part of the day.
"We will be starting to collect from 5am.
“Thank you for helping our crews work safely during the hot weather.”
The move comes as a Met Office red heat warning is in force across parts of south Powys from 9am on Wednesday until 9pm on Thursday.
Temperatures could potentially reach 38C to 40C in some areas, while a wider amber heat warning covers the whole of Wales and much of England.
