POWYS will be one of the first areas in the UK to benefit from a £150 million government plan to end mobile black spots at 60,000 home and businesses.

The funding will be used to buy the right to erect masts on properties and pay for the necessary infrastructure which will then be used by network operators Vodafone, EE, O2 and Three.

Efforts to identify sites for the new masts are already underway.
