The Queen and attendants for this year’s Rhayader Carnival have been announced.

The Rhayader Carnival Queen for 2023 is Freya Williams.

Freya, from St Harmon, Rhayader, is a pupil at Llanidloes High School. When Freya is not spending time with family and friends, she can be found volunteering with the local Beaver Scouts group as part of her Duke of Edinburgh award.

Freya is looking forward to representing Rhayader as their Carnival Queen this year on Saturday, July 22.

For this year’s Carnival, there will be week full of activities leading up to the big day on July 22. This includes treasure hunts - both car and on foot - a vintage show and parade, quiz, hill race, wheelbarrow race, It’s a Knockout competition, Groe gathering with live music and much more.

The carnival week is open to all local and further afield to enjoy.
