Local residents are being encouraged to mend rather than replace as part of Fix it February, a national initiative led by Repair Café Wales.

Presteigne Repair and Share will be hosting a session at the Youth Centre on Hereford Street on Saturday, February 21, from 10am to 12 midday.

The campaign invites people to pledge to fix at least one broken item during February. Participants can repair it themselves, seek help from friends, attend a repair event, visit a Men’s Shed, or use online resources such as iFixIt, YouTube tutorials, or Restart UK for electronics.

The initiative aims to reduce waste, promote sustainability, and encourage a circular economy. Local residents are invited to take the pledge online and discover more repair and sustainability events across Powys via the Powys Green Guide.

You can make the pledge here.
