A pilot scheme is to be launched for 16-18 year olds in Powys who have a Mytravelpass card, allowing them to travel in and around Powys for a maximum fare of £1, the county council has announced.

This pilot scheme is being introduced this week be introduced during half term, following a decision by the council to enhance the offer on our contracted bus services. Each journey will cost a maximum fare of £1.

Councillor John Brunt, Cabinet Member for Highways, said: “We are delighted to be able to introduce this pilot to raise awareness of our local bus services in and round Powys to 16-18 year olds.

“The offer is only available on Powys contracted routes, full details of the scheme and exclusions are available on our website at www.powys.gov.uk/travel”.

Welsh Government recently introduced the Mytravelpass pilot scheme that offers 16-18 year olds at least one third off bus travel until March 2017. Further details be can found on: https://mytravelpass.gov.wales
