Radnor YFC’s County President, Robert Lewis was delighted to welcome the general public, members and friends of Radnor Young Farmers Clubs to the President's Carol Service and Christmas Market.

The popular event took place in Rhayader Smithfield Market on Sunday, December 10.

Ella Harris, Radnor YFC County Chairman said: “I thought it was time to change things up and try something different, so I was overwhelmed to see a jam-packed market.”

The Christmas Market opened at 2pm with lots of different stallholders selling a range of gifts and produce as well as some clubs from Radnor YFC having games, children’s activities, and quizzes to get involved in.

At 3pm Santa’s Grotto opened where he and his elves welcomed lots of children who were delighted to see him.

Later that afternoon, the Carol Service took place around the sales ring with readings and congregational carols as well as local acts including Voices in Unity, Rhayader Church of Wales Primary School, Eifion Davies and Rhayader Male Voice Choir.

The Christmas raffle was a huge success thanks to many local businesses who donated fantastic prizes.

The President’s chosen charity was St John Ambulance Rhayader, and Radnor YFC are delighted to announce they raised £810 for this worthy cause.
