The couple walked some distance to seek help, and eventually got some phone signal to call for assistance. Whilst the rescue team does not perform vehicle recovery, a small team was tasked in their Land Rover Defender to locate the couple, confirm they were uninjured, and take them off the mountain to a place of safety.
On the following day the team were called to an incident in mid Wales in the early hours to assist Dyfed Powys Police, Welsh Ambulance Services University NHS Trust and Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue with with a time critical incident.
A spokesperson for the mountain rescue team said: “Brecon Mountain Rescue Team offers specialist search and rescue assistance to all statutory services in remote areas or on difficult ground, regardless of where the incident is. Often these incidents are not on mountains. Sometimes the sensitive nature of the circumstances means we cannot go into any detail about the incident.
“Our thoughts are with the friends and families of those concerned. “
