Builth Wells Rotary has helped boost support for a local sporting fundraiser after raising £344 at a quiz night held at The Greyhound.

The event was organised to raise awareness and funds for the Builth Wells Aquathlon, which will take place on Sunday, August 9.

The aquathlon consists of a swim at Freedom Leisure’s pool in Builth Wells, followed by a run or walk around The Groe. This year’s event will raise money for Wales Air Ambulance.

Helen Tuite, Co-organiser of the event, said "We are so grateful to Builth Wells Rotary. Not only did they organise the quiz and double the amount initially raised, but each year they help on the day. Their support is invaluable to us. We are trying to make the event as fun and inclusive as possible. Last year, the age range of competitors was from 13 to 81 years, and we've introduced a relay event this year, so that people can take part with a friend or family member."
