SAM EVANS and his three-year-old son Isaac from Llandrindod in Wales have signed up to take part in a trekking challenge in aid of charity.

Sam, who is the manager designate for Powys at the Welsh care provider, Abacare, will be taking part in the Snowdon UK Trek on June 12 with Isaac in aid of Marie Curie.

He said: “On a day-to-day basis as a company we deal with lots of service users that are facing terminal illness so I have a lot of respect for all the fantastic work Marie Curie does to help people and their families who find themselves in these situations.

“I thought it would be good to do my bit for charity and give something back, while also giving myself a real challenge. I’ll be taking Isaac along with me and we have already begun training after work and at weekends.”

Sam and Isaac will trek approximately nine miles along the winding Llanberis route to the summit of the highest mountain in Wales at 1,085 metres.

Once at the summit they will be able to see the views of Snowdonia National Park with Anglesey and the Irish Sea in the distance.
