Central Beacons Mountain Rescue Team are encouraging people to sign up for the Cardiff Three Peaks Challenge to help fund the volunteer work that they and search dog, Bran, do.
The challenge sees competitors conquer three iconic peaks - The Garth, Craig yr Allt and Caerphilly Mountain all in one day.
On Saturday, June 28, the event will go ahead with money being raised for Central Beacons Mountain Rescue Team, allowing them to continue to save lives in the hills of South Wales.
In a recent social media post, Central Beacons Mountain Rescue Team encouraged people to sign up for the event, which has not sold out yet, with a message from the team’s search dog Bran.
The post said: “This is Bran. Bran is a fully trained search dog. Bran works incredibly hard to help find people when they’re missing. But right now… Bran is sad.
“Why? Because we still haven’t sold out the Cardiff Three Peaks. And Bran really wants this event to be a success – because every place sold helps fund the work he and the team do, all year round.

“So please: sign up, spread the word, tag a mate who loves a medal and a mountain. Help us turn Bran’s frown upside down.”
