TWO supercars thought to be part of a film or photo shoot have been photographed overtaking on double white lines on a notorious mountain road.
The BMW i8 was seen on the B4560 Llangynidr Mountain road along with a McClaren car and an Audi that was traveling in front with its boot open and a photographer or cameraman in the boot filming the vehicles.
The cars were seen driving on both sides of the double white lines, which mean overtaking is not allowed, of the road that runs from Crickhowell to Ebbw Vale over Llangynidr moors.
A father, who was traveling in a car driven by his son who has recently passed his driving test, said he spotted the cars which were headed in the Ebbw Vale direction and took the photographs.
Shortly after taking the photographs the man, who has asked not to be named, said the cars were forced to pull in sharply to avoid oncoming traffic.
He said it was only after showing the photographs to other he realised how dangerous the situation could have been.
"Just after I took the photos they had to pull in rapidly to avoid an oncoming vehicle, that’s when I thought this could be a bit dangerous and then it was pointed out to me this morning when others have seen the photos.
"There was almost a head on collision."
The 49-year-old father, who is from Ebbw Vale, said he saw the cars at around 5pm on Thursday, August 8 close to the Powys boundary and Garnlydan.
