Llandovery audiences are in for a rare treat as award-winning theatre-maker Niall Moorjani brings their hit show The Green Knight (But it’s Gay) to town for one night only, ahead of a much-anticipated run at this year’s Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

A bold, hilarious and moving retelling of the Arthurian legend, The Green Knight (But it’s Gay) reimagines the medieval myth through a queer lens - blending razor-sharp writing, emotional depth and Moorjani’s distinctive storytelling flair. It’s a tale of honour, desire and what it means to be a knight - but make it queer.

The special performance on Thursday, July 10, is not just a night of world-class theatre - it’s also a fundraiser for Llandovery Pride, supporting the celebration and visibility of LGBTQ+ lives in rural Wales.

“We’re so thrilled that Niall is fitting us into their very busy schedule,” said Ella Peel, organiser of Llandovery Pride and chairperson of Heart of Wales LGBTQ+.

“Bringing this show to Llandovery is so important - offering people powerful, live performance without the need to travel miles to a big city. We’re so grateful to Jonathan Stanley for hosting this fabulous event at the Kings Head Llandovery.”

This is a unique opportunity to see one of the UK’s rising stars of theatre in an intimate setting - before they head off to one of the biggest arts festival in the world.

Don’t miss this night of magic, myth, and queerness, all in support of a brilliant cause.

Doors open for the performance at 6.30pm on Thursday, July 10 and the performance gets underway at 7pm.
