A new team chasing event near Brecon has raised £5,000 for local causes following its successful debut earlier this year.
The inaugural Usk Valley Team Chase, held in April, attracted 130 teams from across Wales and England, with riders taking on a challenging purpose-built course in the Welsh countryside.
The event raised £2,500 for the Wales Air Ambulance, supporting the charity’s vital emergency medical service across Wales.
A further £2,500 was donated to another local organisation, helping support the wider community.
Organisers said they were delighted with the response to the first event, particularly the number of competitors and spectators who travelled to the area.
The course was designed by the Usk Valley Team Chase team and brought to life by event sponsors JPL Groundworks Ltd, with owner Jeff Poulton and senior course builder Phil Gough carrying out the construction work.
The event gave riders the chance to test themselves over a demanding course while attracting spectators and supporters for a day of competition and community spirit.
Organisers said the turnout provided an encouraging foundation for the event’s future, with plans already under way to tweak and improve the course ahead of the 2027 event.
