Western Beacons Mountain Rescue Team were called out by Dyfed-Powys Police on Thursday, April 11 to Carreg Goch near the Wellington bomber site, where a female had fallen and suffered a head injury.

Due to the nature of the injury, Western Beacons MRT requested assistance from Brecon MRT and a helicopter from Maritime and Coastguard Agency.

The helicopter was unable to reach the location due to the low clouds, leaving members from both Mountain Rescue Teams to carry the casualty on a stretcher towards the road.

The casualty was recovered to the road by 6:30pm and was taken to hospital by the group leaders.

A spokesperson for Western Beacons Mountain Rescue Team wished the casualty a speedy recovery.
