BRECKNOCK Federation of Women's Institutes is set for a double celebration as it prepares to welcome the WI's most famous member to Powys in the year of her Diamond Jubilee.

It has been announced that the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh are to attend a special celebratory day out Diamonds in the Park, at Glanusk Park near Crickhowell in person next month.

And when local WI delegates join thousands of county residents set to greet Her Majesty - herself a member and honorary president of the Sandringham WI group - on Friday April 27, they will have also marked a milestone of their own.
