The Llandrindod campus of Ysgol Calon Cymru has closed early today with immediate effect due to an “unexpected operational Health and Safety matter.”
In a message sent out to parents, they were given information that buses would be coming to the school as soon as possible and pupils who live in Llandrindod could walk home or be picked up as usual.
It is unclear at the moment what the matter is but the school and Powys County Council have been contacted.
In the notification to parents, Headteacher Mr Lee Powell said: “Apologies, we are closing early due to an unexpected operational Health and Safety matter.
“We are hoping to be open on Monday. Further messages will be provided to update you in due course.”
The Builth Campus has not been affected.
The school has said that exams will go ahead as normal. On a Facebook post the school said: “Following the unexpected operational Health and Safety matter today on Llandrindod Campus - we want to reassure leaners and parents that all Exams will go ahead as normal, they will follow the timetable which has already been sent out.”
