ON Sunday October 23, Radnorshire’s Team Championship squad travelled to Blaenau Gwent and came away with an excellent 73 to 52 shot victory winning on all three rinks, gaining a very creditable maximum 12 points.

The team were under pressure from the start, and were losing on all three rinks early on, but they knuckled down and the spirit of the team shone through and saw them coast to a comfortable win. This was a tremendous performance against one of the best teams in the Sunday league.

The above mentioned Team Championship side played their first league match of the season on Sunday October 16, losing narrowly at home to Coed Duon by 65 shots to 59.

Their only winning rink recorded the biggest margin of the match 34—13, it was the rink of captain Arthur Thompson and his teammates, Dave Willsher, Colin Pugsley, Ashley Knijpinga.

Radnorshire’s home match against Glynrhondda last Sunday was called off because their opponents couldn’t raise a team.

On Saturday October 29 they lost to champions Cardiff by 132 to 116 shots, only winning on Gareth Wills’ rink 25 to 20.

However on Saturday November 5 they played Swansea at home in the Club Championships, they won on five rinks, only losing the remaining rink and collected 20 points to their opponents two.
