Two fighters from Brecon Phoenix Amateur Boxing Club (ABC) delivered impressive performances at an Eastern Divisional Championship event held in Torfaen at the weekend.
The event was hosted by Torfaen Warriors gym in Cwmbran on Saturday, June 30.
First in the ring was Dan Webster at 60kg, who faced a strong Cardiff opponent in a closely fought contest. Despite a valiant effort and fast-paced action throughout, Dan narrowly missed out on the win against the more experienced boxer.
Next up was James Berrow at 80kg, who stepped in for a highly anticipated rematch against Llanishen's Tom Russell. The pair traded blows in a thrilling six-minute battle that had the crowd on their feet. This time, it was James who came out on top, earning a well-deserved judges' decision after a gritty bout.
Brecon Phoenix ABC continues to go from strength to strength, offering training sessions for all abilities — whether you're looking to compete or simply improve your fitness. The club welcomes boys and girls, men and women, from the age of 10 and up.
