IRFON Judo Club hosted the Powys Schools Judo Championships at Builth Wells Sports Centre on Sunday October 9.
Over 60 competitors from 15 primary schools and nine high schools from across the whole of Powys competed for their schools. This year the primary school shield was won by Builth Wells C P School and the high school shield was also won by Builth Wells High School.
The level of Judo at this year’s competition was extremely high and The Spirit of Judo Award for the player of the day was awarded to Zola-Lien Buy.
Richard Jones, Chairman of Powys Schools Judo Association said: "We would like to extend thanks to the mayor of Builth Wells, Meryl Prynne, who presented the medals on the day, to all the officials, coaches, parents and young people who took part at the competition, the day was very successful and we look forward to seeing you all at next year’s event which will be held at Welshpool hosted by AJ Judo."
