THIS Sunday will see over 60 classic cars congregating at the Gwernyfed Rugby Club, Talgarth before the start of the second Black Mountains Classic Tour.

After congregating at the rugby club at 8am, the cars will be setting off one-by-one from in the direction of Llangors between 9am and 10.30am, members of the community will see a wide selection of classic cars driving off at one-minute intervals.

Those already booked for the event include a Gilbern Genie (built in Wales during the 1960’s), a rare Ford Corsair convertible, a couple of mid-50’s MG TFs, a locally owned Standard 10, several Triumphs including a Stag, a TR5, a Dolomite Sprint, a late 1940s Roadster and a TR3A. Real rarities today include a Ford Falcon Sprint, a Clan Crusader and a Fiat X1/9.

The tour route, a carefully guarded secret, will include some of the most breath-taking scenes the Brecon Beacons and the Welsh borders can muster with a lunch stop in Hay.

Another opportunity to see these splendid historic cars can be had between 4.30 and 5.30pm on Sunday afternoon as they drive through the centre of Talgarth on their return to Gwernyfed Rugby Club. The route will include Hay Road and the High Street.
