TALYBONT ended another fine season for the village club with a 56 run victory over visitors Clytha Arms.

Clytha won the toss and asked the Bont to bat and openers Captain Dan Bowen and Tommy Kenchington started in steady fashion before Kenchington was dismissed for 4.

Bont then consolidated with Bowen and Lewys Cooke adding a fine stand of 58 before Cooke was caught behind for a quickfire 43 which included five maximum blows.

Bont stalwart Colin Griffiths then joined Bowen and the pair added 11 before Griffiths was caught and bowled for 7 before debutant Colin Olivant was caught for 1 and Bont 87 for 4 with Clytha well in the game.

Dan Bowen then departed for a gritty 25 and it was left to Luke Bowen who added a brief 20 to push Bont on before he was caught. With Bont 116 for 5 off 25 the game was finally balanced until Huw Grifiths with 49 not out off 25 balls which included five maximums propelled Bont up to 169 for 6 off their allocated 30 overs. Griffiths was ably supported by Richard James 5 not out in a stand of 53 in just 5 overs.

Griffiths then opened the bowing and struck an early blow bowling Finlay for 2 in his fine spell of 5 overs 1 for 13 as himself and fellow opener Dan Bowen 5 overs 0 for17 kept a tight reign on the Clytha reply.

Clyhta to their credit worked their way back into the game with Peter Wilson and Tony Norris adding a fine partnership before Richard James 1 for 17 off 5 had Wilson caught behind by father Geraint James for 29.

Bont then turned the screw with tight bowling by Lewys Cooke 1-15, Nicky Jones 1 for 5 and Tommy Kenchington 1 for 10 seeing the visitors end on 113 for 5 with Norris unbeaten on 44.
