Builth Wells remain in fourth place in the Worcester Cricket League Division Seven (South) after beating third-placed Barnards Green 3rds by five wickets at Garth Road.
The Bulls have now reached the midpoint of their season, having won seven matches, lost two, and seen two others either cancelled or abandoned.
The visitors won the toss and batted first but struggled against an impressive Builth bowling attack, which dismissed them for 150. Sujeewa Senarathne (5-51) led the wicket takers, while Martin Hurst picked up 2-20 in his nine overs. There were also wickets for Dylan McPhee (1-18), Harri Phillips (1-32), and Musa Makhubela (1-20).
In reply, Builth lost the previous week’s centurion, Senarathne, for 18, but fellow opener Steffan Towns (24) and Tim Richards put on 79 for the second wicket. It was the in-form Richards who guided Builth home with 67 not out, including 12 fours and a six, as they reached their target in the 22nd over.
