Timmy Richards and Dylan McPhee both recorded centuries as Builth Wells romped to a huge 190-run win against Martley 2nds in the Worcester Cricket League Division Seven (South), writes Paul Worts.
Builth made it five straight wins after racking up a whopping 404 for 5 in their 45 overs at Garth Road.
Neil Harris and Steff Towns got the Bulls off to a good start scoring at six runs an over before Harris was caught for 27 with the score on 66. Towns went on to make 50 from as many balls, which included 10 fours, before Timmy Richards and captain, Dylan McPhee shared in a magnificent fourth wicket stand of 199. McPhee plundered eight sixes and eight fours in his 104 from just 64 balls before being bowled. Richards departed soon after when he was stumped having cracked 20 fours in his 79-ball 103.
Musa Makhubela then joined in the fun hitting seven sixes and six fours in a quickfire 75 not out from just 33 balls with Richard Galton finishing on 10 not out in an unbroken stand of 94.
Martley put on 49 for their first wicket before Ben Cripps (3-39) made the break through. The visitors struggled from then with only opener, Stuart Watt (65) who was LBW to Martin Hurst (1-42), and number seven, Stuart Hayes (34), who was stumped by Neil Harris off Aled Powell (2-26) offering any real resistance. McPhee (1-7), Makhubela (2-36) and Richard Galton (1-8) took the other wickets as Martley were all out for 214 in their last over to leave Builth in good heart for their trip to second-placed Worcester Amigos on Saturday.
