Presteigne are the Worcester Cricket League Division Nine (Herefordshire North) Champions following a 115-run win at Dales 2nds.
The Radnorshire men clinched the title with a game to spare with a 10th straight victory in what has been a successful campaign.
Winning the toss, Presteigne batted first and totalled 209 all out in the 39th over with Billy Davies (39) topscoring while Mark Ammonds and Merv Stephens each made 36 against the bowling of Ollie Bufton (3-31) and Mark Bufton (3-23). Dales conceded 56 extra to bump up the total.
In reply, Matthew Griffiths (1-15) and Joey Jones (1-29) had Dales struggling at 11 for 2. Katie Farmer (18) and Ollie Bufton (27) raised their hopes but once they had gone, Edward Rees (4-14) and Arthur Chilman (4-30), skittled the tail and they were all out for 94.
Presteigne complete their championship winning season on Saturday at Builth Wells 2nds, who themselves have rediscovered the winning formula. Builth were 104-run winners at Luctonians 2nds after posting 224 for 7 with veteran opener, Paul Rowe leading the way with a century. Rowe made 107 and fellow opener, Dai Davies (32) with captain, Jonny Curzon (27) helping Builth to a more than decent total.
Lucs’ Hugo Jackson hit 66 in reply but no one else could support him as Caden Davies returned impressive figures of 4 for 18 for Builth. Mike Williams and Dai Davies each took two wickets and Eurig Towns and Kevin Hall also chipped in as Luctonians were dismissed for 120 in the 35th over.
