Builth 2s 384-4 beat Burghill, Tillington and Weobley 3s 176-9

YOU wait 25 years for a double hundred and two come along in one month as Dylan McPhee once more put a bowling attack to the sword.

Builth 1sts cancelled game at Glangrwyney was Builth 2nds gain as McPhee blasted his way to 279 not out as the Bulls second string strengthened their chances of avoiding a second consecutive relegation.

McPhee dominated the innings with only Steve Anderson (31) and Chris Roff (28) being the only other batsmen to contribute in a massive 387-4.

To their credit the BTW 3s attack kept going in the face of the onslaught as Josh Andrews, Rob Garrard and Jack Cotterell kept their discipline.

In reply BTW though not challenging the total, looked to frustrate the Bulls and succeeded as Craig Lane (36), Dave Hamer (44) and Chris Darke (26) all occupied the crease to leave the visitors hanging on at 176-9 as they denied Builth 2s full bonus points.. Builth used 8 bowlers in an attempt to winkle out the BTW line up as, Gareth Sterry (2-43), Henry Edwards (2-7) and Ben Lewis (2-29) , led the Bulls attack.

Bulls skipper Stuart Cripps marvelling at McPhee’s efforts commented: “It was a fantastic knock by Dylan, full of proper cricket shots and we were delighted to have him on board. We need to keep this momentum to get ourselves up the table.”

Builth 2nds head to promotion chasing Talybont on Saturday.
