Twins Corey and Craig Evans were on target as Brecon Corries made it back-to-back wins in the Ardal League South East with a 2-1 victory over Undy Athletic at the Hub Scaffolding Rich Field.

It was the proverbial game of two halves, with Undy edging the first period while Corries controlled the second half after netting two goals straight after half-time.

Corries were slow starters and Undy had a couple of early chances before they went ahead through Harry Roe following a corner. Brecon thought they had equalised soon after when Mitchell Davies got the ball in the net, but his effort was ruled out for offside.

Manager Damien Daniels had some harsh words to say at the break and that led to a much improved second-half performance. Corey Evans levelled the scores from the penalty spot when Craig Evans was brought down on 48 minutes. A minute later, Corries doubled their lead with Corey playing Craig through for a second goal – his tenth league goal of the term. The home side were now on the front foot and could have added to the tally, with Paul Keddle, their man of the match, having a further effort disallowed for offside, while Joel Evans headed against the post.

Having won two on the bounce to take them to fifth in the league table, frustratingly Corries have no fixture this weekend but return to action a week on Saturday when they host league leaders Caerphilly Athletic.
