Player-manager Liam Addison plundered a second half hat-trick as Rhayader Town Development made it three wins from three in the Watson Financial Mid Wales League (South) with a 6-0 victory at Hay Development.

Only a Stephen Sarpong strike separated the sides at half-time but an own goal from Daniel Montejo Gillespie and a Ryan Owen header straight after the break put Rhayader in control before Addison completed the win, with captain Aaron Bates providing four assists.

16-year-old James Cadmore was another to bag a hat-trick in midweek as Builth Wells Reserves triumphed 4-2 at St Harmon. Cadmore, another of Builth’s thriving junior set-up to progress to senior football, took centre stage. George Lloyd was also on target while Morgan Carter and Adam Young kept the Swifts in contention.

Penybont United picked up their first win with Alfie Stonefield’s 2nd minute goal enough to earn a hard-earned 1-0 success at Knighton Town Reserves.

Presteigne St Andrews remain unbeaten following a 1-1 draw with Hay St Marys at Llanandras Park. Dave Thomas broke the deadlock in Hay’s favour early in the second half but an own goal from Charley Howarth, who headed a Taylor Francis throw-in past his own ‘keeper, levelled matters.

It was also 1-1 at Talgarth Town where the 10-man hosts drew with Llandrindod Wells Reserves. Ryan Sims put Llandrindod ahead and Talgarth then had Brian Keddle-Jones sent off midway through the first half. Grzes Chodnicki equalised two minutes before half-time and Talgarth defended well after the break to hang on to the point.

Rhayader Town dropped their first points of the season in the MMP Central Wales league (South) following a 1-1 draw at Machynlleth. Rhys Thomas put the Red Kites ahead but Jaelan Brown equalised with both goals coming early in the game. It might be two points dropped but at the end of the season could well be a point gained for Rhayader, who remain in the leading pack.

Lampeter Town stay top despite losing 1-0 at home in their big West Wales derby to Ffostrasol who snatched the spoils when Iwan Lloyd netted the only goal in stoppage time. Penrhyncoch made it four wins from the last four with central defender Sion James scoring twice in a 2-0 victory over Bont while the in-form Harvey Matthews netted twice as Bow Street Reserves won 2-1 against Llanilar who had led through Efan Wyn Jones.

Llanidloes Town got their first point from a goalless draw with visiting Kerry Reserves but there was no shortage of goal just down the road as Caersws Development thumped Aberystwyth Town Development 8-0 at The Recreation Ground. Jared Marks scored four and Shayne Kelly, Luca Hughes, Danny Griffiths and Kaiden Mahon completed the tally.
