LLANDRINDOD Wells’ young starlet Elliot Williams has not surprisingly been named the Spar Mid Wales League first division player of the month for October.

Williams completed a transfer from Presteigne in September and has made an immediate impact on The Brodaway. The young striker began the month with a hat-trick in Llandrindod’s league cup victory against Builth Wells.

Williams netted twice in a 2-2 draw with Berriew and four times in a 7-1 win against Montgomery Town and just for good measure grabbed a late winner as the Spa side reached the Radnorshire Cup semi-finals with a 2-1 success at Hay St Marys last week.

Berriew’s Dave Jones is the first division manager of the month with The Rhiwsiders unbeaten in October – a run which has seen them close the gap on leaders, Rhayader Town.

Borth United dominated the awards in division two with Ian Lewis collecting the manager of the month award.

Borth won all four of their league games to go top of the table and Ryan Davies, who scored in all four wins is the second division player of the month.
