RADNOR Valley were well beaten in the Spar Mid Wales League Division 2 (ER Jenkins) Cup Final after suffering a 5-0 defeat at the hands of Champions, Berriew.

Richard Davies, Will Gittins, Karl Seliaerts, Ross Harris and Jack Lewis shared the goals as Berrierw completed a league and cup double.

The defeat was a disappointing end for Radnor but cannot take the gloss off a fantastic season which saw Steve Pigott’s side achieve back to back promotions. Radnor will now lay in the Spar Mid Wales league first division next season – a league which will have a more local look to it with Rhayader Town also likely to be involved following their relegation from the Huws Gray Alliance.

Rhayader ended their campaign with a 4-0 defeat against Cefn Druids who will step up to the Welsh Premier League next term. Adam Hesp and Mark Winslade netted in the first half and Dave Forbes and Max Penk in the second for Druids.
